Appearance
Light or dark interface, four animated backgrounds, and three typefaces including one designed for readers with dyslexia.
The settings panel is organised into six tabs — Appearance, Voice, Thinking, Retrieval, Privacy, and Usage. Open it from the rail on the far left, from the sidebar footer, or from the header menu on mobile. Whichever tab you were last on reopens next time.
Light and dark
Settings → Appearance → Theme switches between dark (the default) and light. On mobile there is also a quick toggle in the header menu. Your choice is remembered.
Canvas themes
The new-chat screen has an animated background that responds to your cursor or touch. It fades out once a conversation begins, so it never sits behind text you are reading.
| Theme | What it is |
|---|---|
| Neuron | A network of nodes and connecting lines with pulses travelling along them. The default. |
| Sakura | Cherry branches with petals drifting down. |
| Koi | Koi swimming beneath the surface, with depth blur and feeding behaviour. Tap or click to drop food. |
| Kanso | Minimal. Still water with ripples where you touch. Named for the Japanese design principle of simplicity. |
Koi is the most demanding of the four; Kanso is the lightest. If the new-chat screen feels sluggish or the fan spins up, switching to Kanso is the quickest fix.
Font themes
The font setting changes the typeface used for the model's replies. Your own messages and the interface are unaffected.
- Sleek — a clean sans-serif. The default.
- Stylish — more character, for a less utilitarian feel.
- Dyslexic — a typeface with weighted letterforms designed to reduce letter transposition and improve readability for dyslexic readers.
Accessibility notes
- Every control is reachable by keyboard, and Esc closes any open panel.
- Buttons carry labels for screen readers even where they show only an icon.
- The Dyslexic font theme is available in both light and dark.
- Replies can be read aloud — see Voice and audio.
- Use your browser's zoom for larger text; the layout reflows rather than clipping.
If animation is a problem, the Kanso canvas theme is close to still. Full support for the system reduced-motion preference is not yet implemented across every animation.
